Peter Thomas Roth Laser-Free Resurfacing Eye Serum

Peter Thomas Roth Laser-Free Resurfacing Eye Serum

I don't get much sleep nowadays because of my weird hours at work. I noticed that I started to get some puffiness under my eye area. Quite frankly, that shizz makes me look older than I really am. Anyhow, my sister and I were on a mission to find an eye serum that would reduce the puffiness under our eyes. We went to Sephora and took a chance on Peter Thomas Roth's Laser-Free Resurfacing Eye Serum. Like every other eye serum, it claims to reduce the appearance of undereye puffiness, undereye dark circles, and wrinkles. However, we decided on purchasing this eye serum because it contains an ingredient called "Dragon's Blood." Dragon's blood removes stagnation and obstruction of blood and reduces swelling conditions. We've been using this eye cream twice a day, morning and night. I've actually seen a difference in the puffiness. I haven't seen much improvement in terms of my undereye darkness, but I'll give it some time. Overall, we're happy with our purchase :)

Research results from Sephora's website: Based upon a 4-week consumer study on 20 women:
- Regenerate: 96% of users saw improvement in the appearance of undereye puffiness
- Renew: 96% of users saw improvement in the appearance of undereye dark circles
- Resurface and Repair: 92% saw improvement in the appearance of crepiness or "crinkled" skin

Mini December Haul

Mini haul of beauty products in the last couple of weeks:

Shiseido White Lucent Brightening Protective Cream
I've been using the Aveeno moisturizer for about 7 years and wanted to try something different. I have sensitive skin and was hesitant to try another moisturizer. I went out on a whim and decided to purchase the Shiseido White Lucent Brightening Protective Cream. Let me tell you that I am so glad I did! It's light, absorbs quickly, keeps my skin hydrated all day without making it look greasy! I've only been using this cream for two weeks along with my Shiseido Brightening Cleansing Foam and noticed that my face has a more even skin tone.

Shiseido White Lucent Brightening Cleansing Foam
I've been using Mario Badescu's facial cleanser for 6 years. It did its job by helping preventing breakouts, but I don't think it cleanses as thoroughly as it claims. I did a test one day to see how well it cleansed and it failed miserably. First, I washed my face with Mario Badescu's facial cleanser, dried my face, and used a makeup wipe to see how much makeup was still left on my face. Lo and behold, the wipe had picked up the leftover makeup. I did the same test with the Shiseido brightening cleansing foam and it left no remnants of makeup at all. I think I found the ONE! Whoop Whoop!

Caudalie Exfoliator
Since I was on a facial cleanser kick, I wanted to try a different exfoliator. I decided to try Caudalie's deep cleansing exfoliator because it does NOT contain: parabens; sulfates; synthetic dyes; petrochemicals; phthalates; GMOs; and triclosan. It does its job by smoothing out the texture of my skin, but it's a little too rough on my skin. I think I'll stick to my Mario Basdescu exfolitaor.

Chanel "La Fascinante"
Like my sister, I love wearing red lipstick. I wanted to try Chanel's Rouge Allure Velvet line in "La Fascinante" It's a red lipstick with a matte finish. It's not as matte as I like my lipsticks to be because it still has a little shine to it after it sets. Not my favorite red lipstick, but it's a nice shade I would like to have in my collection of reds.

Nars "Dragon Girl"
I'm in love with Nars' lip crayons. I like the color "Cruella" but wanted a shade brighter so I decided to purchase "Dragon Girl." It's a brighter shade of red than "Cruella" is. This shade is a little brighter than I like so I apply MAC's lipliner in Brick all over my lips to darken the color a little. I actually like this lip crayon insread of my usual MAC "Ruby Woo" lipstick because it lasts longer and doesn't make my lips feather.

Lime Crime "Red Velvet"
Last but not least is Lime Crime's Velvetines in "Red Velvet." This is a liquid lipstick that dries to a matte finish. I was reluctant to purchase this at first because I didn't like the idea of liquid lipsticks. After seeing that this item was always sold out, I wanted to see what all the hype was about. I am soooo glad I did because hands down, this is the "SHIZ!" The staying power is freakin' amazing! I ate and drink with this on and I didn't even had to touch up my lips. Not only does it have great staying power, it dries to the perfect shade of red for me. I want to stock up on this because it always seems to be sold out and I know why!

Steph's December Favorites

These are a few of my December favorites:

Jeffrey Campbell "Soiree"

These new Jeffrey Campbell's are one of my favorite shoes from his crazy creations. It's definitely a staple piece in my closet. This shoe may look deceiving, but don't let that fool you. They are quite comfortable and have enough height to either dress it up or wear them with a casual outfit. I love the unique structure of the 5" acrylic heel, vinyl toe strap, silver accent, adjustable buckle, and the convenient zipper in the back.

Zara "Basic Ankle Strap Heels"

I am a big fan of the brand, Zara, especially their heels. These are my third pair of heels from Zara and I would have to say that these beat the other two. I love the simplicity and sophisticated look that these heels have and the fact that I can basically wear anything with them because they are black. I can wear these babies for hours. I wore them when I watched the Pacquiao vs. Marquez fight, although he lost (which is a tragedy for all Filipinos especially in the motherland) they provided my feet with comfort through the cheering and jumping I did until the 6th round.

Zara "City bag with flap"

This is another item from Zara that I am loving. So far, it has been my "go to" bag. The structure and the amount of space inside the bag is what won me over. I can basically stuff all my crap in this bag and still manage to fit more things inside and be able to find them easily. Also, I love the versatility that this bag has because I can either wear it on my shoulder or wear it on my arm.

Nars "Cruella"

I love red lipstick! But this lip crayon by far wins the award for best matte lipstick in my book. When I was first introduced to wearing red lipstick, I started wearing MAC's Ruby Woo. After awhile, I wasn't too fond of the formula because it would dry out my lips, making them feather which is not cute. Not only did it do that but it didn't stay on well. I hated that I had to reapply my lipstick often. Don't get me wrong though, I still wear it from time to time but I wanted to find an alternative red lipstick. I went into Sephora one day and tried on Nars "Cruella". Let me tell you, my lips were loving it! This lip crayon has a matte finish and is very moisturizing. I love that I can wear chapstick beforehand and then put this on. With MAC's Ruby Woo, the consistency would not be able to uphold the moisture from the chaptstick and would be hard to apply.

Upstart Crow

Upstart Crow in Seaport Village is one of our favorite spots in San Diego. We have been coming here since we were kids. It is a two level coffee house/bookstore. They carry ecclectic items and quirky little books. One of our favorite drinks to order is their Mexican Mocha which is quite tasty. Right outside is a beautiful bayfront view of the Coronado Bridge. We can spend hours getting lost in their books, if we feel like paying extra for the parking fees, haha. We also enjoy going to the shops nearby and dining at the restaurants from time to time. Rain or shine, its always a cozy place to go to.

Cast Iron Teapot

So I'm a big tea drinker and have been wanting a cast iron teapot for a really long time but was hesitant to buy one because they're so expensive... Cast iron teapots can range from $90-$200! Luckily, I found a nice one at World Market for only $20! How could I resist? It was perfect, it was blue, and had a koi fish design which matched perfectly with the color scheme of my condo! I had to get it! Now, I can share my loose leaf tea with my friends and family! I'm a happy gal!

Char's December Favorites

These are a few of my December favorites:

Soleil Tan de Chanel
Adds a little color to my face during the winter months. I apply this to the hollows of my cheeks for definition. I wear this with blush or by itself, depending on what look I want.

Urban Decay Naked Basics
Great basic matte shadows for an everyday look.

Caudalie Beauty Elixir
This beauty elixir does wonders to my face. It refreshes, tightens my pores and sets my makeup.

Jo Malone "Wild Bluebell"
I've used Dolce and Gabbana's Light Blue for almost 12 years and
I finally found a second favorite perfume!
